The client (my husband and I) were shifting their kitchen from one side of the house (where there is no view) to the other side of the house (great views) and making an open plan kitchen/lounge. The lounge area is in the original spot and the new kitchen is in the old master bedroom. We wanted a long bench with cupboards above including display cabinets with lighting. All the carcasses, draws and cupboard fronts were made by hand using a festool track saw.

Many hours are spent in the kitchen, they seem to be the most popular place in the house so having this open plan space made for a very enjoyable experience, especially with the view.

The following photos are from the building stage of the space and the kitchen. Installing the stainless steel bench made me anxious because if it was too big I would have to order another one. It did fit like a glove thankfully.
