The Fractal was made by laminating two layers of 1.5mm Australian hoop pine plywood together into a mold, gluing and letting set. All 17 fans are different sizes, requiring a different mold for each one.  Very labour intensive but very rewarding to see the final piece lit up. This piece was the prototype that then developed into the Nautilus lampshade that is in production. The Fractal’s fans and stand were designed to collapse down for ease of transport and less packaging material.
